    As a licensed child care provider serving children ages 18 months through 4K, we are proud to hold a 5-star Quality Counts rating year after year for excellence in both academics and social-emotional growth. Our full participation in the Spartanburg First Steps 4K program also helps make high-quality preschool more affordable for families.


    We maintain low teacher–student ratios to ensure safety and personalized attention, and our program is fully licensed by the State of South Carolina. Every classroom follows developmentally appropriate practices and meets or exceeds all state-mandated standards.     We understand that families need options: classes for children ages 18 months through 4K:
    • Morning School: 8:45 am to 12:00 pm
    • School Day: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
    • Full Day: 7:30 am to 5:00 pm
    • Three-Day and Five-Day options available

    First Steps 4K / Palmetto Pre-K

    St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church Preschool is proud to partner with First Steps 4K and Palmetto Pre-K, a statewide network of publicly funded preschool programs. Eligible families may enroll for FREE, high-quality, curriculum-based preschool that prepares children for school, work, and life.
