Job Title: Director of Youth and Young Families
FLSA Status:
Position Summary: Full time director who will facilitate a program that supports the Prayer for Spiritual Growth of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, “to preach, teach, heal and make disciples”. The duties will be performed with a focus on the mission of the church at large to “restore all people to God and each other through Christ”.
Reporting Relationships: This position reports to the Rector.
Essential Job Functions and Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate, communicate, budget, plan, recruit, support and train leaders for:
Christian Formation (Godly Play, Sunday School, and other curricula)
Episcopal Youth Community (EYC)
Bible Studies
Small Groups
Fellowship Events
Retreats
Outreach Projects/trips
Diocesan and Episcopal Church opportunities
Vacation Bible School
Confirmation Classes
Conferences for youth
Youth Sunday
Develop relationships with young families and youth in the parish, integrate them into the ministries of St. Matthew’s, and maintain accurate database information of youth/young families.
Stay abreast of the newest trends in formation.
Remain consistent with SAFE Church training and Church guidelines.
Attend worship regularly on Sundays/other times and participate as requested by the Rector.
Attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested by the Rector.
Social Media communication for youth/young families
Recruit and incite new members to the youth group and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
Communicate with vestry liaison monthly on formation updates.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Rector or the Rector’s designee.
